The impact of applying blockchain technology on improving operational efficiency and avoiding fraud in Egyptian insurance companies (Field study)

Abstract

One of the most important modern technological methods that has emerged recently is what is known as the blockchain or trust chains as they are called due to their role in instilling confidence in various economic transactions. The study aims to examine the impact of applying blockchain technology in the insurance sector and its role in improving the operational efficiency of insurance companies by reducing costs and speeding up performance by excluding intermediaries, as well as adding an element of safety by avoiding fraud while allowing real-time data sharing between various parties in a reliable and traceable manner, which leads to good insurance practices and improved services provided to customers. The researcher conducted a field study by distributing questioners to employees of insurance companies in Sohag Governorate, and the researcher used descriptive analysis in order to ascertain the importance of the study variables according to the opinions of those surveyed, in addition to the regression analysis method in order to test the hypotheses of the research. The study concluded that the blockchain technology is one of the most important modern technological methods that can achieve the best operational efficiency for insurance companies, and eliminate fraud cases in light of the digital transformation that the Country seeks
